There's just something...

All of my life I've been blessed with my Mom and my Grandmother's "general good health". I've had lots of cases of strep throat and viruses over the years but I've never had to deal with anything serious. No broken bones, no surgeries. But this past week I've had had this crazy thing called pharyngitis. It's alot worse than any sore throat I can ever remember and I can hardly eat or talk. Anyway, the other day Dad, Mom and I were running some errands and Dad put in the original Gaither Trio CD (back when it was Bill, Gloria and Danny). They had the most beautiful version of There's Something About That Name, and it stuck with me. A few days later we made our second trip to the doctor and I got a shot for pain and I've not had a shot since I was a toddler. I got through the needle fine but when we left to pay, everything started flashing and I started wobbling. It was one of the scariest moments of my life because I'd never experienced anything remotely similar. I ran to the bathroom and Mom and I sat on the floor. She kept asking if we should get a nurse but I was too scared for her to leave me. My head felt like it was swelling and my body was heavy and I kept praying that it would stop. There on the floor the words from that Gaither CD came to my mind and I prayed them over and over.
"Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. There's just something about that name.
Master, Savior, Jesus. Like the fragrance after the rain...

...Jesus, the mere mention of His name calms the storm, heals the broken, raises the dead. At the name of Jesus I've seen sin hardened men melted. Derelicts transformed. The lights of hope put into the eyes of the hopeless child. At the name of Jesus hatred and bitterness turn to love and forgiveness. Arguments cease. I've heard a mother softly breathe His name at the bedside of a child delirious from fever. And I've watched as that little body grew quiet and the fevered brow cooled. I've sat beside a dying saint, her body racked with pain. When those final fleeting seconds summoned her last ounce of ebbing strength to whisper her sweetest Name. Jesus. Jesus. Emperors have tried to destroy it, philosophies have tried to stamp it out, tyrants have tried to wash it from the face of the earth with the very blood of those who claimed It. Yet, It still stands. And there shall be that final day where every voice that has ever uttered a sound, every voice of Adam's race shall rise in one mighty chorus to proclaim the Name of Jesus. For in that day, every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is truly Lord.
So you see, it was not mere chance that caused an angel one night long ago to say to a virgin maiden, His name shall be called Jesus. There's just something about that name...

Kings and kingdoms shall all pass away,
but there's something about that name..."

I promise, I promise!

Here I am.. again... I keep on forgetting to post to my blog!! I have high hopes to keep up this blog, and maybe over the summer I'll stick to it. My Mom is always faithful with her blog. I always end up posting every several months... It's almost been a year! Maybe I'll get better... Alright, let's try it.

I don't want this to be an opinion blog or a way to put myself out on the internet. This blog will be more for my own use, chronicling my life through pictures, events, poems and Scripture that speaks to me as I go along. I realize I have wasted so much of my life these past few years just scrolling feeds on social media. If I'm going to spend my time in front of a screen, I want to be productive!! This is going to be great. Thank you for your patience.
 May Jesus richly bless you,
 Ima.

Gone but not forgotten... Forgotten but not gone?

Alas, I have forgotten my blog once again... Blogging seems to turn out alot like my journals. I start a new one, and about 3 entries/posts in, I loose interest or just simply forget. So, as with my journals, I will fill you in on the latest happenings.
First of all, I've been involved in a Drama group with my Homeschool Co-Op (Creative Christian Cooperative). I really enjoy acting (not to mention singing) and the whole aspect of "stage life". It's so much fun to actually become someone else, if only for a short time, and to get to SING about it! Ah, if only life was a musical... We'd all be alot happier.
Anyway, without further adieu, here are some pictures from our productions. (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe not pictured.)
 Aladdin Jr:

(I played a Narrator.)

My friends also did "A Night of Shakespeare" which consisted of hilarious Shakespeare(ish) skits. I had to resign from the play because of calendar complications but they did a wonderful job. :)

This past week we finished up our production of "Fiddler on the Roof, Jr" Definitely my favorite play we've done. (Ahem.... I got married. Who wouldn't love that.)

My sisters were singing to me "Dear Yente, see that he's gentle! Remember, you were also a bride... It's not that I'm sentimental..."
"It's just that I'm TERRIFIED!"
I got to SCREAM and beg my father not to make my marry the old butcher...
Hey, it worked. I got the tailor.

...and a baby... :)

Also, I got to attend my first Formal Dance. (I've been taking Ballroom Dancing with my Cooperative as well.) My brother was my escort (a quite handsome one, might I add) and we had alot of fun. A wonderful night with wonderful friends.

Also, our dance class had the Recital in front of all the parents... You can watch the video here.

I am so blessed to have such precious friends and to have this opportunity for a fine arts program.
I love playing the piano at my church, as well as at home. I play every moment I have available. I just love it. I hope one day to learn the violin (at least) or maybe even a wind instrument. I only know that music will be a part of my life forever.

Thank you so much for reading. I hope you have a beautiful day!!

February 1, 2012

Well Happy February and 2012! I haven't done much since my last blog post. Basically just school work and doing things for church. On Wednesday nights, my youth leader and I practice guitar together, and we played Amazing Grace last Sunday. It went well, and was alot of fun!
I have a Fender Starcaster, below is a picture of it! I'll get some better pictures soon. :)
That's pretty much all I've done recently...I promise to have more interesting posts in the future! God bless! -IV

Doctor Who

Before you read anymore, you need to put on your 3d glasses and prepare for some extreme nerdy-ness!
As alot of you know, my latest tv show obsession is a BBC Sci-Fi called Doctor Who. The Doctor and his assistant travel through time and space in the TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension in Space). They are currently filming the 11th doctor (Matt Smith), and every doctor is a different actor. Instead of getting older, they regenerate when they change actors which means they change appearance and personalities. They also each own something called a "Sonic Screwdriver". They can unlock things, scan for different alien species, check for damages and such. I THINK that every doctor's sonic screwdriver varies, but I'm not sure. But they are NEVER ever ever used as weapons! I actually got one for use in my Halloween costume (see the last pictures in the post! :) ) I need a better picture, but this is the best I have. This is from the night when I got it. :D
Below I've typed up a list of all 11 of the doctors and a few things I know about them! :D check it out!
This is the first doctor :D He is played by William Hartnell from 1963-1966
This is the second doctor. He is played by Patrick Troughton in 66-69. From the little I've seen of him, he is DEFINITELY my favorite from the oldies :D

Here we have the third doctor played by Jon Pertwee! He's probly the one I've seen the most, and I must say he's the most serious of all the doctors! He starred in it from 1970-74.

Here is the fourth doctor who is played by Tom Baker from 74-81. His signature thing was his HUGE scarves he wore constantly. Lots of fans have made replicas of them which I think is REALLY cool! (Is it just me or are they getting younger?)
(drum roll please) AND HERE IS THE 5TH DOCTOR!!!! He is played by Peter Davison who is this amazing actor who was also in one of my mom's favorite shows called "All Creatures Great and Small". I still cant't help but  call him Tristan! He starred in the years 81-84.
This is the 6th doctor (Colin Baker) who I've never really heard of or paid much attention to. (I've actually never seen him before. I have failed my mission as Whovian. oh dear) He was in the show during 84-86.
And This is the 7th Doctor (Sylvester McCoy). Again, I feel like a failure of a Whovian because I don't know hardly anything about him either! No clue whatsoever. Except that he was in the show from 87-89, and was also in a movie in 1996.
And here is the 8th doctor (Paul McGann). He was in a movie that was based on Doctor Who, and was kind've trying to be a kick-off of the new show that didn't really work. Or something like that, not quite sure. :) This movie was filmed in 1996!
And here is Christopher Eccleston! He is the 9th doctor from 2005. He was the 1st doctor in the newer kick off and he was only here for one season. Seeing as I've only seen one episode in this season, I don't know that much about him. But I know that his companion's name is Rose Tyler. She is my VERY favorite Companion :D

(very dramatic drum roll) AND HERE I MUST PRESENT MY FAVORITE DOCTOR! The 11th doctor! He is the BEST of all of them (in my opinion). He was with the show from 2005-2010. He had 3 companions all at different times. Rose Tyler for his first season, Martha Jones and Donna Noble. :D
He is definately my favorite of all the doctors!!
And here I present to you the current Doctor (11th). He has been in the show from 2010, and is still filming episodes. Sadly, a few weeks ago he announced he was leaving the show at the end of the 2013 season. NOT COOL. I'm going to miss him, but it is quite exciting in imagining who will be the next doctor!

Also, this is my brother and I dressed as Doctor Who and Amy Pond (the 11th doctor and his companion)!
Here are some pictures I took:

THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN!

one last thing...
